Glorious Autumn

Autumn is well and truly here; the leaves are changing colour and dropping fast. Squirrels are feasting on sweet chestnuts their prickly cases are everywhere, open to reveal where the sweet chestnut was snuggled inside. Anyone in Goosewing has had to get used to the sound of the cases dropping on the roof with a surprisingly loud noise. They are nearly all down now though. It may be my imagination but the acorns look big and fat this year too. Andrew and I have taken photographs of the many kinds of fungi in the woods at the moment. Andrew has also taken a photo of a hornet - although they look big and scary they are not as vicious as wasps.
