What to see in North Norfolk
North Norfolk has something for everyone to enjoy; beautiful beaches, family attractions, stately homes, fabulous countryside, fine dining and family friendly restaurants.
Attractions
There are plenty of attractions in North Norfolk for example, the Muckleburgh Collection at Weybourne, the Thursford Collection with their amazing Christmas production, Cromer Pier with its end of the Pier shows, Pensthorpe which was used for the BBC's Springwatch for several years, has beautiful gardens and exciting children's adventurous play areas. There are many more wonderful places to visit.
Historical Attractions
Norfolk has many historical buildings both intact and ruined. There are two cathedrals in Norwich, one Anglican and one Roman Catholic and many medieval buildings including about 50 parish churches. The National Trust has many beautiful houses and estates in Norfolk that are well worth visiting for example Blickling Hall, Felbrigg Hall, Oxburgh Hall. There are ruins such as Castle Acre, Castle Rising, Binham Priory, Walsingham Abbey and beautiful villages all worth exploring.
Outdoor Activities
There are miles of beaches to explore with sailing and canoeing available or organised trips out to see the seals off the coast at Blakeney or Morston. There are many parks for example, Holt Country Park, Holkham Park and Sheringham Park. Cycle hire facilities and high rope assault courses. We are lucky to have several parkruns in North Norfolk plus several more in Norwich and the surrounding area. Local Area
We are very lucky to live on the edge of a thriving village. Briston and Melton Constable are joined with the boundary between the two being almost imperceptible. Briston has two public houses that serve food; Explorers Bar and Coffee House http://norfolkexplorers.co.uk/ and The Three Horseshoes http://thethreehorseshoesbriston.co.uk There is a Co-operative store in both villages and additionally a Mace store in Briston. Melton Constable has Chinese, Indian and Kebab/pizza takeaways, there are further takeaways in Holt and a Thai restaurant just a few miles away. There are three excellent butchers, one in Melton and two butchers and a bakery in Briston.
There are many places to eat out in North Norfolk both fine dining and family friendly.
